Mole Removal
At Plaza Central Medical & Aesthetics, we offer professional assessment and removal of suitable moles and benign skin lesions using a range of techniques, depending on the type, size and location of the lesion. Where appropriate, minimally invasive options such as Plasma Pen treatment may be considered, while other lesions may require a medical or surgical approach.
What is the Plasma pen technology?
Plasma Pen technology uses controlled plasma energy to precisely treat the surface of the skin without cutting it. It can be used for suitable benign skin lesions and for skin rejuvenation, helping improve skin texture, fine lines and areas of loose or crepey skin.
How does the procedure work?
Before treatment, the mole or skin lesion is assessed to make sure it is suitable for Plasma Pen removal. A topical or local anaesthetic may be used to help keep you comfortable.
The Plasma Pen then delivers precise, controlled plasma energy to gradually remove the unwanted superficial tissue without surgical cutting. A small crust or scab will usually form over the treated area and naturally fall away as the skin heals.
Some lesions may require more than one treatment, depending on their size, depth and location.
What is the aftercare and downtime?
Downtime is generally minimal, although the treated area will usually develop a small crust or scab as it heals. Mild redness, swelling or tenderness may also occur for the first few days.
Keep the area clean and dry, avoid picking or scratching the crust, and allow it to fall away naturally. Once healed, protect the area from sun exposure and use a high-SPF sunscreen to reduce the risk of pigmentation changes.
Healing time varies depending on the size, depth and location of the treated lesion. Your clinician will provide specific aftercare instructions following your treatment.
